WIN 1 of 5 Double Passes to Taste of Melbourne 2011

Another year has come around so quickly. As you may recall, last year I was so gutted I missed out on attending Taste of Melbourne but of course for good reason as I chose to lap it up in Japan and Philippines where I feasted instead. However, I’m gleefully excited about attending this year for the FIRST TIME being a Taste virgin and all – especially after reading posts and tweets from my fellow bloggers who had attended.  I’m preparing my loosely fitted outfit (trackies) as we speak. If I had no shame whatsoever, I’d rock up in a robe so my waistline has as much leeway as possible. It would be a sin to leave pekish.

Taste of Melbourne gives you the opportunity to try out some of Melbourne’s best eateries under one roof – some new, some old. I can see why it’s fast becoming one of Australia’s most popular events. Well, with so much kick ass food in one place, there should be reason to celebrate! Though I’ve eaten at most of the restaurants being showcased this year at least once, there is still an abundance of dishes I’ve yet to sink my teeth into. Though, I’d happily eat the brilliant crispy pig’s ears at The Kitchen Cat over and over again! I fell in love with the crispy pig’s ears at District Dining during a trip to Sydney which prompted a pig hunt across Melbourne in search of this very addictive dish that goes so suprisingly well with beer.

  1. I’m a Taste of Melbourne virgin, too! Very excited that this is the first year I’ll be going 😀

And geez, which one am I MOST looking forward to seeing? If I had to narrow it down, I would probably say The Kitchen Cat (got a bit of a crush on Tobie Puttock 😉 hahaha) but am looking forward to trying the food at Libertine & Le Traiteur as I have all three dishes on their Taste menu highlighted for tasting!

P.S. I already have tickets – but I just wanted to join in on the comment fun! Haha 🙂

  2. I’m a Taste virgin, too! Would absolutely love to go this year… Francophile that I am, I’m looking forward hugely to Libertine… China-phile (hmm) that I am, also really looking forward to Mahjong Black!

Off to your FB page now…

  3. I went there last year and it was amazing, the Stokehouse in particular.

I guess that would have to be the one I’m looking forward to most!!!

  4. Stokehouse!! Everything I have ever had there and everything I have seen anyone else have there had been amazing!!

  5. Definitely Longrain. Thai fusion at its best with something different to try no matter how many times I go.

What new flavours will they have for me this time…?

  6. What?? You’ve never been!!! Gosh!! Well hope you enjoy yourself and get all the food tasting you can, I’ve been to these events with you before and I know how much you can chow down!!

  7. The Botanical. Because when you see simple food turned into masterpieces, it gives some home to all us simple folk out there!

  8. Botanical but thats just guessing cause since I had kids I never get to those beautiful fancy restaurants. I need tickets really need tickets….

  9. Too many choices!!! However if I must choose one,it would be Longrain as I like asian style fusion or perhaps Millswyn for the superfood salad

  10. The botanical! Always wanted to try it and now that there is a new menu, all the more looking forward to trying it! (:

  11. Stokehouse, have been waiting for an excuse to take a trip down to melbourne so we can check out a few of the amazing restaurants on offer 🙂
