WIN 2 Tickets to Filipino Barbie: 2014 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (valued at $120)

As part of the 2014 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Celebrity chefs Sau Del Rosario and JP Anglo from the Philippines are coming down under to cook up a Filipino feast to rule all feasts at the third annual Filipino Barbie, with a menu designed by Philippines’ leading culinary school, CCA Manila. Saaaaay whaaaat?! How awesome is that. Organised by the awesome Ana Trinidad and Co, this year’s menu is inspired by the beloved coconut and will be held at the William Angliss Restaurant.

Filipino Barbie is the only Filipino themed event on the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival calendar thus far which makes it so unique and no doubt, a memorable experience for those who have yet to try Filipino cuisine.

I’m freakin’ excited about this event and am more than happy to help promote it. I was shattered I didn’t get to go last year as I was in Europe so I made sure to clear my calendar for this. What better way to showcase Filipino cuisine than through a degustation and yes…of course there will be Lechon!

  1. Adobo! Because my mum makes the best Adobo in the world… and I know everyone says it’s thier mum… but no… it’s my mum’s.
Also- I really want to take her to this event!

  2. Pork adobo – I have a good recipe, and also love all things ube. I would love to try a wonderful traditional lechon.

  3. Haters gonna hate but there’s nothing like spamsilog as the ultimate comfort food… for breakfast, lunch, merienda and dinner 😉 xoxo

  4. My friend’s mum used to make the tastiest Lumpiang ubod- definitely the start of my lifelong love of ‘small bite’-share dining. Would also love to try Lechon, but haven’t as yet had the pleasure…

  5. Crispy pata randomly went to a mates whose gf at time brought out this dish its the only filipino dish I’ve ever had ever everyone else’s suggestions are making me hungry

  6. My Mom’s dinuguan with a side of my Aunty’s cheesy puto. Using the puto to sop up the dinuguan sauce – yummy…Matched made in heaven.

  7. Pancit bihon – simple, versatile & classic Filipino dish that will always remind me of celebrations with family & friends

  8. Tambo Tambo (or bilo-bilo)
The texture of the glutinious rice flour balls are genious.
No pork dish will ever be as good as a Filipino one either.

  9. Beefsteak Tagalog! I lived in Manila as a teen, and despite searching with all my might
I cannot find a replica beefsteak Tagalog back here in Oz like the true Filipino delight!
    Sarap nito…
